In Te Ngahere me, Ben, AJ and Taleisha made a marshmallow catapult. But the hard thing was we only got to use 12 skewers, 9 Marshmallows 2 rubber bands and lots of masking tape. At first our catapult didn't go that far, It went 1 metre and flow up to high. So we made some adjustments. We made some adjustments by putting the skewers on different angles and making the marshmallows support more. We did this by using more marshmallows. At the end our marshmallow catapult went 9.4 metres. I enjoyed shooting the catapult and building it with my team.

smile and wave test

Yesterday in Te Ngahere Whaea Chrissy made us do an experiment. The experiment was to smile and wave everyone we saw. We did this to see if smiles spread and to make kids feel safe. Me and Tawhiri waived at about 28 people each only three kids didn't wave. After me and Tawhiri had finished our experiment. We learnt that all the kids felt a lot safer and also seems like us. It was like they were our friend. I enjoyed all the kids smiling at us it's felt good. I think me and Tawhiri could have done better by waving at a couple more people

Wood work #2

In Te Ngahere I am a year 8 so that means I will go to technology. The year 7s all so get to come. In cooking class we are cooking strudel, After  we had nearly made the dough the next step was to throw the dough on the table hard as you could 150 times. After that I had to wrap it up in Glad Wrap and waited for one hour. Later on after I stretched out my dough, I had to put the apple on it and  raspberry and sugar after that I rolled it up. I put it in the oven and waited for it to cook. What I enjoyed doing was throwing dough on the table over and over. I did well with throwing the dough on the table over and over. What I think could do better next time is to get more juices in it.

wood Work

In technology I am doing a wood work for this term. In woodwork we are making a model of anything we would like to make. My Design is quite simple it's just drawing is hard. My design is a stealth bomber aeroplane. The reason why this is easy is because it's just a flat bit of wood cut out into the shape of a stealth bomber aeroplane. It's easy to cut the shape out because it's all 1 height and length. The other thing I have to do is add on a bit of wood on top were the glass would be were you sit. Next I will  round the sides with a tool like a file. After I will paint it black . When I next go to woodwork I will finish rounding the sides and stick a bit of wood on top after I shape it.

James Cook

James Cook James Cook was born on 7 November 1728 in Marton. James Cook came to New Zealand because the queen told him to find more land and Islands in 1778. He recorded where he went on a map so he knows where he is already been, so he does not get has lost and so he does not go to the same place again if not needed.

James Cook came on a boat called endeavour and found New Zealand on the 6th of October 1769. He would of of never found  New Zealand if the queen didn't tell him to look for more Islands. I think the queen sent James Cook to find more land so the queen could have more land and power.

James cook died in 14 February 1779 in Hawaii at a Beach called Kealakekua Bay. he got killed by the Hawaii natives by getting stabbed once and getting left to die. Also James Cook had 3 Brothers and 1 sister. We could not find the name of James Cook's 3 brothers and 1 sister.

It’s quite werd because Jame Cook’s dad name is James Cook. James Cook's mum’s name is Grace Pace Cook.
