Duffy Assembly

On Tuesday We had a Duffy assembly. We got 2 books each. We had to sing the Duffy song and do the actions. After that we had to shut our eyes and imagine we we're on a candy planet. There were candy floss trees and technically everything was made from candy. The outside of the planet was silver with a giant crystal going down the middle. I got two Minecraft books. Surprisingly the Minecraft books were quite interesting. I enjoyed reading the books.

Cross Country

On Thursday week 7 the Whole school did cross country. Frist the 5 year olds, then the 6 year olds. I had to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes before I got to run. The older groups had to run feather. If you are 10, 11 or 12 you run around the field up the hill dodge the horse poo and down the other side of the hill. Then we had to run around the field again and you're done. There was lots of yummy stuff to eat like American hot dogs, chocolate brownies with really good icing on them. More brownies 50 cent cookies and tropical juice. It was really, really good. The brownies were what I enjoyed the most. Before I got to run I could play with all my friends at the same time, because they were in the same area as me. What I could have done better was listen to my friends advice so I could of came 3th or 4th. But I didn't so I came 5th.

Beeswax Wraps

Yesterday in Te Ngahere we made beeswax wraps. The beeswax wraps are made from a material. At first we had to make patterns on our beeswax wraps or draw on them. then we had to wait until someone picks you so you can go to do your beeswax wraps. Next your beeswax wraps went into melted beeswax. Now you had to hold your beeswax wraps over some cardboard for about two minutes until it is dry. You are done. We are making these beeswax wraps so we have less rubbish around our school and spend less money on plastic which we use once. What I enjoyed the most was drawing patterns and colouring in my beeswax wraps. What I could have done better was be a bit tidier with my drawing.

Cereals

On Monday Whaea Gina came into talked about cereals, The cereals that Whaea Gina talked about Coco pops, Nutri-grain, Weet-bix, Porridge, Rice bubbles and those are the only cereals I can remember. We had to find what cereals where healthy to eat and what cereals in the middle of healthy and not healthy. Also we had to find out if the cereals are not healthy. If you want to eat a healthy cereal make sure the sugar is under 10 so you do not go crazy. Make sure that the fiber is over 5 so you do not get hungry before morning tea. Make sure that the fat is under 10 for some random reason. What I liked the most was reading the back of the cereals.

UKULELE Lessons

In Te Ngahere on Monday the year 7 & 8s went to ukulele lessons. It is the last time we will see the ukulele teacher for this term. We learned a new song. The name of the song was three little birds. You had to strum the red dot four times and then you have to strum the two yellow dots four times. We did not get to learn the other song because about 7 people kept on making noises with the ukuleles. I enjoy playing the songs. What I could of done better was keeping in time.

Basketball

In Te Ngahere on Monday Mr Lindsay took the year 7 and 8s out to learn some basketball skills. Everyone had to go to the first white line then come back, Then go to the second white line and come back and last but not least you have to bounce the ball to the end and back. Some of the skills Mr Lindsay taught us was to bounce the ball at about waist height without looking. No one got to play basketball. I enjoy bouncing the ball to the first white line then come back, Then go to the second white line and come back and Then bounce the ball to the end and back.
